The application possibilities of HORADAM® GOUACHE are extremely versatile. Although highly dilutable, the gouache is primarily intended for opaque color application. Opaque in this case does not mean pasty, since pasty applications can tend to crack - unless the binder content is additionally increased by adding gum arabic (50302). While watercolor painting is done from light to dark (the white paper is the light), gouache painting can be done as desired. If there are limits to "painting behind" lights in watercolor, when working with gouache (as well as other opaque colors), light values as well as lights can be set afterwards with the paint. The learner understands very quickly that gouache colors dry up brighter and will therefore quickly find out the appropriate dosage when mixing.
