Degummed and bleached, can be used for oil paint production or as a painting agent with gloss enhancement. Linseed oil is a classic binder for oil paints. When rubbing with pigments, please use as little linseed oil as possible. The mixture should have a plastic consistency - i.e. the less oil the better. The paint can be thinned later with turpentine substitute, universal thinner or balsam turpentine. Oil paints with linseed oil dry slowly, depending on the pigment. Oxygen and bright light are beneficial for faster drying. Some linseed oil can also be added to ready-bought oil paints so that they dry more slowly. The oil also serves as a painting agent to increase the gloss and transparency of your oil paints. Siccatives can be added to accelerate drying. Thinly applied linseed oil dries after about a week.
