Polystyrene profiles for model making
A plasticard profile is a thin, flexible sheet of various plastics that is commonly used in model making and miniatures. It is available in various thicknesses and sizes to meet different model making needs. Plastic profiles can be easily cut, shaped and glued to create various architectural details, textures and structural elements in model making. They are widely used for dioramas, wargaming terrain, architectural models and other projects.
Plasticard profiles are made from ABS plastic (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), also known as Plasticard. The generic term plasticard refers to a range of plastics that are widely used in model making. ABS plastic is the plastic that LEGO parts are made from.
The ideal adhesive for ABS plastic is cyanoacrylate. White glue can also be used, but it takes much longer to dry.
ABS plastic also has thermoplastic properties, so the shape of the plastic can be changed by various heat sources
